How to Set Up and Use a Baby Formula Prep Machine

Quick answer

Setting up a baby formula prep machine involves unboxing, cleaning, assembling, and calibrating the water and powder settings. The Baby Brezza Formula Pro Advanced simplifies the process with a few straightforward steps.

Step-by-step setup and use

1. Unbox and clean all parts: Remove the machine, water tank, mixing bowl, funnel, and any accessories. Wash the water tank, mixing bowl, and funnel in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and air dry. Do not submerge the machine base. Check if your model's funnel has a small rubber gasket that needs gentle cleaning to avoid clogs.
2. Fill the water tank: Use cold, filtered water to fill the tank to the MAX line. Place the tank back onto the machine until it clicks into place. Do not use hot or distilled water. Always use fresh water daily to prevent bacterial growth. Never reuse water from previous days.
3. Add formula powder: Open the powder hopper lid and pour in your preferred formula powder. Do not overfill—leave some space for the mixing mechanism. Close the lid securely. Use only powdered formula. Do not mix in pre-made liquid formula or add any supplements.
4. Select temperature setting: Press the temperature button to cycle through room temperature, body temperature, or warm. Choose based on your baby's preference. Warm is the default. Test the temperature on your wrist before feeding. The machine heats to a safe level, but bottles can vary slightly.
5. Dispense a bottle: Place an empty bottle under the dispense spout. Press the dispense button. The machine will mix and dispense the correct amount. Wait until the cycle finishes before removing the bottle. Always use the bottle size recommended in the manual. Too small a bottle may overflow.
6. Clean after each use: Remove the mixing bowl and funnel. Rinse them under running water and scrub with a soft brush if needed. Wipe the machine base with a damp cloth. Run a cleaning cycle every week. If you see powder clumps, the funnel might be blocked. Clean it immediately to maintain accuracy.
