Bought this for our newborn and the pre-washed grey fabric is already soft enough to use right out of the package—no stiff edges digging into her chin. It's held up through constant spit-up duty and still feels breathable when she's wrapped tight.

After multiple washes the grey color is still soft and not pilling at all, which is such a relief. We use it as a swaddle at night and a burp cloth during the day, and the breathable cotton keeps our baby comfortable in both situations.

The cotton is soft but thinner than I expected for a swaddle; it works fine as a light cover or burp cloth.
